After falling to Argentina 1-0 in extra-time Sunday night in Miami, Colombia's 28-match unbeaten streak came to an an end. Despite the loss, Colombia captain James Rodriguez was recognized for his tournament-long heroics, earning the award as the Copa America 2024 best player.

Rodriguez set a Copa America record with six assists during his tournament run, while also bagging a goal along the way. He led Los Cafeteros triumphantly throughout the tournament, with brilliant set-piece delivery, a delicious first-touch and proper leadership on the pitch.
