WHAT HAPPENED?
The Ballon d'Or winner remained sidelined for the majority of the 2024-25 campaign after he ruptured his ACL during a Premier League clash against Arsenal last September. Rodri then missed the rest of the season and only returned to action in the club's penultimate match against AFC Bournemouth.

now reports that the Cityzens are considering offering the midfielder a new contract after he miraculously recovered right on time ahead of the Club World Cup in the US. The Spaniard's current contract runs for another two years, but the new deal will keep him at Etihad Stadium until 2029. The new deal will also see a significant rise in his current pay of £200,000-a-week, as Rodri is likely to pocket a salary of more than £300,000-a-week.
